A series of crazy events have led to not quite the Christmas season I imagined, so we haven’t gotten to all the Christmas traditions I wanted. But we have managed to do one of my favorites: nightly Christmas stories. A new favorite is Merry Stirring Mice which I was sent for review by The Brand Connection. The girls are captivated by this tale, especially Desmonda Drama…
The book’s description:
“Not many people know about the secret part of Santa’s team. In a colorful, charming moment-by moment description, author Cynthia Dreeman Meyers shows us what really goes on the night before Christmas. Watch Mama Mouse and Daddy Mouse show their kids—Max and his little sister Molly—how to prepare for the man. “Max, come away from the door please and help your sister stir the candy-cane mix,” Mama Mouse begins. Soon come the sugarplums, the candy canes, and finally the note that says, “For Santa.”
When you own as many Christmas books as we do, it’s hard to find a new twist to a seasonal story but this book is unlike any of the others’ we own. The illustrations are whimsical and the prose simple enough for my readers. But what we really loved was the cookie tie in. My girls love making cookies for Santa so (to be punny) they ate this story right up. If you are looking for a new Christmas tradition of your own, order a copy now!
