Foodie Find : Wild Ophelia

As a member of the Wild Ophelia bloggers posse, I was sent a packet of bars to try.

When I was little, I devoured the Roald Dahl books, especially Charlie and the Chocolate  Factory. I dreamed of bubblegum that tasted like blueberry pie and lickable wallpaper.

I still entertain chocolate factory dreams but my tastes are a bit more sophisticated at 37 than 7.

Lucky for me, Wild Ophelia has brought my grown up Willy Wonka fantasies to life. Instead of sugar pencils, I am sucking on beef jerky infused chocolate bars. And the Southern Peach Hibiscus bar… there are no words.

I can’t wait to share more flavors with you. Especially their Hunger Games line, debuting just in time for Catching Fire.

Stay tuned!

  2. Hunger games product line? I must know more!! I am a huge fan of Hunger Games and hearing the delicious goodies you are enjoying know…i can’t wait to see what they can create to fit with Hunger Games. :)

  3. I need to go check out their ingredients and see if I would be able to eat them. It is no fun being on a special diet. The Hunger Game line interests me too.

  4. I tried several of the flavors at BlogHer and was hooked on the spicy chocolate for sure! It had just enough kick! Unfortunately, the PR reps weren’t friendly or approachable at all, so it left many of us with a bad taste in our mouths. On the bright side, the chocolate is amazing .. there’s no arguing with that. :)

    • I heard that from a few people. Too bad! The BBQ chips they use in one of their chocolate bars is from Billy Goat chip company. Love that St. Louis connection!

  5. Not sure if I could convince myself to try some of those combinations! They certainly sound interesting to say the least.

  6. I was a huge Roald Dahl fan as a kid, too, and honestly, I still am! :) I’m also a huge Hunger Games fan and can’t wait for Catching Fire to come out! I look forward to hearing more about the CF-themed flavors in one of your future posts.

  11. I think I tried these one year at Blog Her also. I seem to recall the spicy chocolate bar as well. But, I will say, I haven’t run into too many kinds of chocolate that I don’t like. Although, beef jerky, I think that could be a first for me to turn away.

  12. I have not heard of these but would love to try them. I see some others referred to a spicy chocolate, sounds good and the peach is something my dh would enjoy. Not sure about the beef jerky infused bar.
