Celebrating the #PowerOfDads

ThePowerOfDads

The above picture is of me and my dad right before he walked me down the aisle. My dad was the ultimate Father of the Bride. The morning after I got engaged, he went straight to the bookstore and cleaned out the wedding planning shelf. From taking me to my dress fitting to keeping my mom up at night by discussing meal choices, he was involved in every step of the way. It was amusing but amazing to see my big Texas dad elbow deep in ruffles.

I shouldn’t have been surprised though. My dad has been there from day one: feeding me at night, giving me a bath, taking me on trips by himself (with three of my friends no less), picking me up and taking me to countless orthodontist appointments. Those were special afternoons in junior high, my dad always treated me to lunch after.

In celebration of Father’s Day this year, Oral-B is honoring dads everywhere with their newest campaign — the Power of Dad. This campaign focuses on the moments and smiles dads have brought to their families over the years. In honor of Father’s Day, Oral-B is making a $25,000 donation to March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, dedicated to helping babies get a healthy start in life.

I love that my dad moved me and all my crap close to 10 times while I was “finding myself” Never asked questions when I needed to move out because I was breaking up with my boyfriend or was failing my semester in college. He is awesome, nerdy and the best.
