Jump into the Shark Tank with U.S. Cellular

As part of my sponsored partnership with U.S. Cellular, I am happy to share this information about their partnership with ABC’s “Shark Tank. They have created ”“Shark Tank Meets Main Street,” a strategic collaboration with ABC’s “Shark Tank” that harnesses the credibility and reach of this popular and award-winning show to support small businesses in the U.S. Cellular footprint and beyond. To start, U.S. Cellular brought provided access to the prime time show via a casting tour exclusively in their footprint, giving small businesses the opportunity to pitch their business, product or idea for a chance to appear before the Sharks on Shark Tank, airing on national TV. To make the casting call experience top notch, U.S. Cellular provided a first of its kind experience on site, inclusive of hospitality areas, charging stations, beverages, and giveaways. Please Join Us for the Miracle Marathon

Rarely have I felt as strongly about a blogging project as I do about the one I am embarking on with the girls next week. Being a lead blogger for the Miracle Marathon isn't just about numbers or awareness or charity for me. It's about thanking the people who helped my daughter through surgery and continue to help her. Having a Children's Hospital in town can make all the difference in not only the experience but also your child's health. I firmly believe that the innovations and support system Miracle Network hospitals are able to offer make a huge different in the well being of the children in their community. And the Miracle Marathon is such an appropriate way to raise money because it's about improving your own health by getting active every day while you raise money for a great cause. And what does this money go towards? Look at some of the things my daughter experienced while being treated at MU... … [Read more...]

Summer Suppers

It's time to set up the garden parasols and spread the quilts! Summer is here and it's time to take supper outside! Supper is my favorite meal to eat outside during the summer because the air is cooler and the family is sleepier. Instead of running around like maniacs, my kids are content to snack with up. They tend to only get up for flower picking breaks and random dancing. These interruptions bother us way less than the usual suppertime shenanigans. And it turns out almost like a mini date for us! So now I am on the hunt for more meals to share outside... please comment with some of your favorites! We love to eat panzanella, sandwiches, grilled pizza, and hummus and pita. Anything that is simple and requires little to no clean up. Cocktails and lemonade suggestions are welcome too! … [Read more...]

Monday Giveaway : Quinny Yezz

Designed using the latest technology and lightest materials, the Quinny® Yezz weighs only 11 pounds. And unlike any stroller on the market, the Yezz features an adjustable carry strap that transforms the stroller for hands free backpack-like carrying which makes it ideal for travel! I would have loved to have two of these when the girls were small and we often traveled by public transit! The stroller switches from pushing to carrying and back again within seconds. The Quinny® Yezz features six interchangeable seats so parents can pick their own fashion (or refresh for the next kiddo!) It is available in the following fashions: Blue Loop, Yellow Move, Blue Track, Grey Road, Red Signal and Purple Rush. Made for children from 6 months to 40lbs, so if you have skinny minnies like me you could use this stroller for a LONG time. Quinny had an exciting day on Sunday as the new Quinny Yezz conquered New York City. 400 lucky Big Apple Moms lined the streets of Manhattan to receive a free … [Read more...]

Creating Family Rituals

One of the movies that struck me the most at the True/False film festival was The Crash Reel. The family bond was so evident and strong even before the tragic accident that forms the center of the film. It is a bond that I really hope to emulate. I plan to start by copying one of their rituals, having a moment of meditation before starting a meal. The father would ring a small meditation bowl and the family would close their idea in silence until the gong stopped. I thought it was a lovely way to reconnect and reflect at the end of the day... a sort of prayer for the non-religious. As I read Nurturing the Soul of Your Family last week, I noted other ways I could help to nurture myself and my family. And though I really think you should read the book for yourself, I did want to share a few of the things … [Read more...]
